In the future there lies a place between death and re birth when the data of dying peoples minds is taken to a digital realm awaiting a new body and rebirth.

These people are called ‘Sleepers’. In that place peoples consciousness continues living in a suspended dream, that seems as real as life. Nobody quite knows what happens there as not everyone comes back and Amy Chan is caught between the two realms.

In her suspended state she seems to suffer a sleeping sickness. There is a glitch in her data and she is unable to control when she falls asleep the strange and vivid dreams she is experiencing. In her dreams state he meets and falls for a boy on the subway. Unsure if he was a dream or real she surfs the subway taking hundreds of pictures of sleeping in the hope she may find him. Will she find her love, or is her love just another dream? If she dreamt him once can she dream him again? But a killer also surfs the subway and as Amy searches she stumbles upon a dead girl, yet another dream perhaps? However the dead girl is a reality and Amy is convinced there must be a truth within her dreams. Can she stay awake, find her love and evade the killer? The answers lie in her dreams as they start to play out in reality.

TRAPPED is a striking and sensitive look into the world of a family stricken by poverty. Living in terrible housing the family are forced to move from place to place as their world falls apart around them, with only red tape to bind them life is a constant struggle. The film revisits “Cathy Come Home” by Ken Loach, but where little has changed for the struggling modern family on the bread line.
